Now you can easily root Asus Google Nexus 7 tablet via the CWM recovery. This method doesn’t require any toolkit or computer software. However in order to follow this tutorial you have to install clockworkmod recovery or any other custom recovery on your nexus 7 tablet.
After you got the root permission you can install root permission require apps. Moreover you can flash custom ROM’s, various modifications and customizations.

- Unlock the bootloader. (Guide here)
- Install CWM recovery. (Guide here)
- Backup and sync internal memory. (Rooting not wipe user data).
- Charge minimum 50%.

How to root Asus Google Nexus 7 Tablet with CWM Recovery.
- Copy downloaded zip file to the Nexus7.
- Now you’re in the custom recovery. If you’re not, then power off the tablet and press and hold the “Volume up, Volume down and Power” buttons together for a few seconds.
- Go to “Wipe cache>Yes – Wipe cache“.
- Next go to the “Install zip from the sd card>Choose zip from the sd card” and select the downloaded “JB-SuperSU.zip” file.
- Select “Yes – Install JB-SuperSU.zip“.
- Now you can see the installation progress, it takes few seconds.
- When it displays “Finished” go back to the main menu.
- To boot the device select “Reboot system now“.
- Congratulation ,you just rooted your Asus Nexus 7 tablet.
