How To Install ClockworkMod Touch Recovery On Galaxy Nexus GSM And CDMA

Using this tutorial, you can install CWM touch recovery on Galaxy Nexus GSM and CDMA phone.

Warning!

Rooting, installing custom recovery void your phone warranty. After uninstall this recovery and flash a stock ROM, again you can claim the warranty. This is not a risky method, however if there’s any step goes wrong, your phone can be bricked. I can’t get its risk.

Pre-requirements.

• Root the phone (Guide in here)
• Fully charge the device
• Backup essential stuff (guide in here) (this method doesn’t wipe anything on your phone, so this step optional)
• Install android adb drivers ( Guide in here) (PadNet fast method)

• Download correct recovery img file in here
• Fastboot files in here

ClockworkMod Touch Recovery installation method.

• After download finished rename the downloaded CWM file as “recovery”. Don’t change the file extension.
• Extract downloaded fastboot files compress file.
• Copy renamed recovery file into the fastboot folder.
• Power off the phone.
• Boot into the fastboot mode by press and hold the “Volume up, Volume down and Power buttons” together for a few seconds.
• Navigate to the fastboot file folder and press and hold the “Shift” key and same time right click. In the Windows context menu click “Open Command Window here”.
• Now type or copy and paste following command in the CMD window.

fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

• Now type following command.

fastboot reboot

• Instantly your phone reboot. When it rebooting disconnect from the phone.
• Now you can use advanced customizations such as install custom ROM, kernel, etc.

How to boot in to ClockworkMod recovery on Galaxy Nexus.

• Power off the phone.
• Press and hold the volume up, down and power buttons together for a few seconds.
• Now fastboot mode appears, use the volume keys to select the recovery mode and hit the power button.
