How to Factory Reset And Setting Reset Android Phone [ Fully Wipe ]

This post I’m going to show you how to factory reset android phone. Its doesn’t affect your phone internal memory, but not touch pre-installed apps or ROM. Mainly we can identify two types of reset on the android devices, factory data reset and setting reset. There are many reasons for doing this,
  • Remove personal data before selling the device. 
  • Frequently receive error message.
  • Malfunction of device. 
  • Uninstall all the user apps at-once. 
  • Apps conflict. 
  • Continuous slow down device. 
  • Or any other issue, that you can’t find.



After the successful reset, you will receive fresh phone, like when you buy it. It will not affect external memory, but it will erase your internal memory user file, apps, Google account information. If you need to delete SD card you can, but it’s optional. Before you get started following methods, it’s better backup user data. 


Pre-Requirements. 

  • Perform full android backup (Guide in here). 
  • Well sync contacts, calenders, etc.


Factory reset.
This process will delete all the data, on your phone’s internal memory. In addition to that user can wipe SD card files, but it’s optional. Highly recommend to do this, before sell your phone. After you follow do this, you will lot downloaded apps, Google account log-in details, custom settings, system and apps data.
  • Go to “Menu>Settings>Privacy”.
  • Under the personal data tap on the “Factory data reset”.
  • If you need to erase SD card files check “Erase SD card”.
  • Finally tap on the “Reset Phone”.
  • Now your phone will be restart and wipe all the files, apps, data, etc. It will take longer start-up time, than usual.

Setting reset.

This process will change your phone settings to default status. It will affect system settings, system apps settings. However it will not erase system and apps data, user installed apps and SD card files.
  • Go to “Menu>Settings>Privacy”.
  • Under the personal data tap on the “Settings reset”.
  • Finally tap on the “Reset Phone”.
  • Now your phone will be restart and wipe all the files, apps, data, etc.
