Install Asus Transformer TF300T Android 1.2 Jelly bean CM 10 ROM

How to install Android 4.1.2 jelly bean based official CyanogenMod 10 [ CM10 ] on the Asus Transformer TF300T? Its more easier with the clockworkmod recovery. To update your Transformer TF300T to the latest CM 10, you have to unlock the bootloader. You can follow requirement section guides for that. CyanogenMod is an aftermarket custom firmware.

CM 10 is an AOSP based custom ROM. It gives pure android experience just like the Google Nexus tablets. Though it doesn’t include Google apps, but we can install all of them using this post Gapps zip file. Moreover it doesn’t include Asus apps.

  • This ROM only for the “Asus Transformer TF300T”, don’t apply it to another ASUS tablet.

Requirements

  • Root the Asus Transformer TF300T. [ Guide in here ]
  • Install ClockworkMod recovery.[ Guide in here ]
  • Unlock the bootloader [ Guide in here ]. 
  • Charge the battery minimum 60%. 
  • Sync and backup the internal memory.

How To Install Official CyanogenMod 10 Custom ROM Asus Transformer TF300T Android 1.2 Jelly bean.


If you install CM10 first time you have to wipe user data, cache partition and dalvik cache. But if you are updating the existing CM10 ROM you need not wipe the user data.
  • Copy the downloaded ROM and zip files into the internal memory.
  • Power off the Asus TF300T tablet.
  • Boot into the recovery by press and holding “Vol Down, Power” together until you see the “Press Volume Up to Enter RCK [ 5s ]”. After that quickly press “Volume” up key.
  • Now you’re in the ClockworkMod recovery.
  • First make a complete nandroid backup. To do that go to “backup and restore>backup”. It will take a few minutes. When it completed go back to the main menu.
  • Now wipe the data, cache and dalvik-cache.
  • Go to “Wipe data/factory reset>Yes – Wipe user data”.
  • Navigate “Wipe cache partition>Yes – Wipe cache”.
  • After that go to “Advanced>Wipe dalvik-cache>Yes – Wipe dalvik cache”.
  • Now we can start the CyanogenMod 10 ROM installation.
  • Go to “Install zip from the sd card>Choose zip from the sd card”. Now browse the ROM zip file location and select “Yes- Install”.
  • Installation takes a few seconds.
  • When it’s completed again select “Choose zip from sd card” and select the downloaded “Gapps zip” file on your tabelet.
  • Once all the zip file installation completed, go back to the main menu and select “reboot system now”.
  • First boot takes a few minutes, when it completed again log-in to the Google account.
